Coming Back to Yourself

What if you haven't lost yourself you've just been listening to everyone else for too long?
There is a particular kind of exhaustion that doesn't come from having too much to do.
It comes from being disconnected from yourself while doing it all.
You know how to show up. You know how to get things done. At work, at home, and in your relationships, people know they can count on you.
But somewhere in all of that, you may have stopped asking:
“What do I need?”
Not what needs to be done. Not what would make everyone else happy. Not what is expected of you.
What do you need?
For many successful women, that question can feel surprisingly difficult. Not because they don't have desires, opinions, or dreams, but because they've spent years becoming very good at adapting to what life, work, and other people require of them.
They read the room. They consider everyone. They keep things moving.
And eventually, their own voice becomes quieter.
The cost of losing touch with yourself
You can have a good career and still feel unfulfilled.
You can have people who love you and still feel lonely.
You can be successful and still wonder, “Is this really the life I want?”
That's not ingratitude.
It's information.
Sometimes that uncomfortable feeling inside you isn't telling you that your whole life is wrong. It's telling you that something about the way you're living no longer fits who you're becoming.
And that's worth paying attention to.
Coming back doesn't mean starting over
You don't necessarily need a new job, relationship, city, or completely different life.
Sometimes the first change is much quieter: you begin listening to yourself again.
You become honest about what you want and more aware of what energizes you, what drains you, and what you've been tolerating.
You start making choices that reflect the woman you are today not the woman you had to be years ago.
And slowly, something shifts.
Your decisions become clearer. Your relationships become more honest. Your goals feel more meaningful. And perhaps most importantly, you start feeling like you belong in your own life again.
A question I want you to sit with
If nobody was disappointed by your answer, what would you admit you want right now?
Don't rush to answer it.
Just listen.
You may discover that the woman you've been trying so hard to become isn't the woman you need to become at all.
Maybe you simply need to come back to yourself.
You don't have to abandon the life you've built. You just have to make sure there is still room in it for you.
